Kirtan / Mantra music with Mercedes Bahleda

Welcome to a heart opening and joyous community gathering of mantra song, guided by the devotional singer Mercedes Bahleda. Through the sound of our united voices we will dive into the sweet tranquility of love in our hearts, and unify our intentions in a dedicated prayer for freedom and peace for all life.

The kirtan will be guided by a trio of devotional musicians and yogies: Mercedes Bahleda, Nora Fredheim & Christian Andvig. We are so grateful to have Mercedes with us this evening who has been creating and sharing inspiring music from the heart to the heart for many years. With us this evening we also have Karen Sollihaug and Bea Sobrino on percussion, drumming us up on our dancing feet 

Kirtan is a co-creation where every voice is welcome. The mantras will be easy to follow, and no previous experience with this practice is required. If you have a small rattle then feel free to bring it and shake along as the energy rises :)

To facilitate a smooth landing into our hearts we will be offering warm ceremonial cacao for purchase at the event.

Doors open at 17:45 and the kirtan starts at 18:00. Please arrive some time before we start to allow time to register and settle into the space.

Mercedes Bahleda is an international devotional musical artist. She has worked professionally within the field of musical arts in over 30 countries and continues to share her knowledge around the world. She has released several albums and is a dedicated bhakti yogi that has a deep love for Kirtan, the spiritual practice of devotional singing. She has been teaching yoga, voice/chanting and kirtan workshops for many years. Teaching how to use these practices as therapy for the wellness of body and mind

Blending mantra song and meditation, this ancient practice of bhakti yoga was developed to clear the mind, open the heart and invite into ones life a tangible and intimate connection to deeper aspects of ourselves and the universe. Between the chants we come back to silence, and share stories explaining the meaning of the mantras.
