Kirtan / Devi prayer

Welcome to an evening of mantra song dedicated to Shakti Devi, the Mother of all Life. Marking the beginning of the Navaratri festival in celebration of goddess Durga, we gather to praise her infinite aspects and life giving power. We will share mantra prayers from different traditions to the many forms of the Goddess, with an intention of calling in joy, freedom and healing for all life on our dear Mama Earth.

The kirtan is guided by Aïda, Mette and Nora - devotional musicians and yoginies dedicated to the Mother in all her forms.

The doors open at 17:45, and we open the circle of sound at 18:00.  Please arrive some time before we start to allow time to register and settle into the space.

Kirtan is a co-creation where every voice is welcome. This ancient practice of bhakti yoga was developed to clear the mind, open the heart and invite into one's life a tangible and intimate connection to deeper aspects of ourselves. You are invited to sing along, or rest silently into the musical journey. In between the mantras there will be space to land in deep inner peace.

The mantras will be easy to follow, and no previous experience with this practice is required. If you have a small rattle then feel free to bring it and shake along as the energy rises :)
