Kirtan / Celebration of light

Welcome to this special Diwali community kirtan, where Magnus, Mette, Christian and Nora are joining forces to guide you through an evening of devotional mantra singing. Diwali is the festival of lights, celebrating the victory of light over darkness as love, truth and harmony. This evening we will offer a special prayer to the light, and we encourage you to bring a candle to light as an offering during the kirtan.

The kirtan will be guided by a quartet of devotional musicians and yogies: Magnus Støre, Mette Støre, Nora Fredheim & Christian Andvig.

Kirtan is a co-creation where every voice is welcome. The mantras will be easy to follow, and no previous experience with this practice is required. If you have a small rattle then feel free to bring it and shake along as the energy rises :)

Doors open at 18:15 and the kirtan starts at 18:30. Please arrive some time before we start to allow time to register and settle into the space.

Blending mantra song and meditation this ancient practice of bhakti yoga was developed to clear the mind, open the heart and invite into ones life a tangible and intimate connection to deeper aspects of ourselves and of the universe. Between the chants we come back to silence, and share stories explaining the meaning of the mantras.
