Devi prayer / Kirtan & Cacao

Welcome to an evening of mantra song dedicated to the Mother of all Life, Mahadevi. Following the end of Navaratri, the celebration of goddess Durga, we gather to praise her infinite aspects and life giving power. We will share mantras and prayers to the many forms of Shakti Devi, with an intention of calling in joy and freedom for all life on our dear Mama Earth.

This evening we have gathered an exceptionally potent constellation of female devotional musicians to join us in the prayer. Giita Rani has been singing to the divine her entire life, creating and sharing inspiring music for many years. You may feel her music here: 𝑅𝒶𝒹𝒽𝒶’𝓈 𝐿𝑜𝓋𝑒 | 𝒢𝒾𝒾𝓉𝒶 𝑅𝒶𝓃𝒾. We also have the powerful voice of yogi and musician Hanne Viestad with us this evening, in addition to the Sangha crew with Nora & Christian. We are quite beyond excited for this gathering. To facilitate the journey back to the Heart, ceremonial cacao from the Central American jungle will be offered for purchase.

The doors open at 16:45, and we open the circle of sound at 17:00.  Please arrive some time before we start to allow time to register and settle into the space.

Please bring something to offer for the Devi to the altar - a flower or fruit or whatever you feel She may enjoy.

Blending mantra song and meditation this ancient practice of bhakti yoga was developed to clear the mind, open the heart and invite into ones life a tangible and intimate connection to deeper aspects of ourselves and of the universe. Between the chants we come back to silence, and share stories explaining the meaning of the mantras.

Kirtan is a co-creation where every voice is welcome. The mantras will be easy to follow, and no skills are required.

Ceremonial Cacao is a catalyst for opening the Heart, and has been used by the Mayan Indigenous people for millennia as a gentle support for going deeper into themselves.
